单车欲问边

属国过居延

征蓬出汉塞

归雁入胡天

大漠孤烟直

长河落日圆

萧关逢候骑

都护在燕然

Journey to the Frontier

With a single carriage, I seek to reach the frontier's edge
Through mountains of Northwest, as ambassador I pledge
Like wisps of tumbleweed, I leave the fortress behind
As wild geese returning, into Tartar skies I find

In the vast expanse, smoke rises, solitary and tall
Over the river's length, the setting sun, a round ball
Passing the Qiaoguan, I encounter a rider's call
But in Yanran Fort, the General holds his stall
